Sunday, June 10, 2012 @ 12:00AMSun, Jun 10, 2012 @ 12:00AM

Windsor Art Center, 40 Mechanic Street, Windsor, CT

Dr. Stan Scott, recently returned from a concert tour of India where he received the 2011 Mumbai Music Circle Award for “Contribution to the Cause of Indian Music by an Overseas-Resident Personality,” celebrates the release of his recent CD The Weaver’s Song:  Bhajans of North India, in a concert featuring songs of Kabir, Surdas, and other great Indian poets and composers.  He will be accompanied by Steve Gorn on bansuri-bamboo flute, Mohan Beltangady on harmonium, Monish Dave and Nikhil Menon on tabla, and the Rangila Chorus. The Windsor Art Center, a converted railway freight house, boasts marvelous acoustics in an intimate performance setting.  The concert will occur amid the pieces of "Radiate," an exhibition of contemporary art of the South Asian diaspora.  Enjoy the music, the exhibition, and a post-concert reception with the musicians with the opportunity to purchase autographed copies of "The Weaver's Song."
